Academic Experience

Online adjunct instructor at Santa Rosa Junior College, 2012-present
Full-time instructor at Santa Rosa Junior College, Petaluma Campus, 1991-2012.

My jobs before teaching at SRJC have all involved education. Teaching experiences were at the high school, private business school, university, and community college levels in Iowa, Texas, Arizona, and Wyoming. I taught teachers how to teach at San Francisco State University.

Additional jobs included training for industry and working for two state departments of education: Kansas and California. I love writing and have written numerous articles and textbooks.

Before being hired full-time at SRJC, I worked as an adjunct instructor at the Petaluma Campus. I taught full-time at SRJC for 21 years until May 2012. My life has gone full circle, and now I am an adjunct instructor again!

Family
In addition to teaching, my time is spent gardening (the lawn is now gone!) and volunteering for a local nonprofit organization by managing the website and communications.

We are very proud of our son who graduated from San Diego State and is digital advertising manager in San Francisco.

My husband and I like exploring new towns, states, and countries, which is why you might not be able to communicate with me 24/7!

We recently adopted Ibarra. Ibarra is a beautiful black lab who was trained to be a service dog. His training involved attending classes for two semesters at SRJC and a semester working with veterans in Menlo Park. When Ibarra was 2 1/2, he started limping and was released from service dog training. We felt that Ibarra had much to give others, so we trained with Paws As Loving Support. Ibarra loves people of all ages, is smart, and gladly helps others. Children read to Ibarra at the Petaluma Library.
