Bio

Academic Experience:

I taught ESL in Osaka, Japan, San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Rafael. I have also taught Developmental Composition at SSU.
I have been teaching English in one form or another for over ten years. I began teaching in Japan, where I lived for a year and a half. I love travel and exploring, but am happy to be back in my native California. I am passionate about writing, and creating strong communities within my writing classes.I am very excited to be a member of the SRJC community and look forward to working with new students and colleagues!

Professional Areas of Interest:

My greatest focus is student centered learning. I hope to foster writing by empowering students to write about their own passions and ideas. To me, the most important aspect of writing is self expression, and if a writer is strong in this area, they will be able to write about any topic with confidence.
