Biography
ESL instructor, all levels, at 2 community colleges, first at College of Marin and afterward at Santa Rosa Junior College, plus prior instruction in adult schools and private industry sites. These are all part of a much loved career in second language instruction for English learners. Have created and established new classes, such as basic skills instruction for refugee populations and academic occupational content courses using ESL strategies for advanced students. Have handled testing and placement of new students, all levels, as well as curriculum analysis and development.
Worldwide travel and strong skills in Spanish have added to cross cultural sensitivity and appreciation of diverse educational backgrounds, varied work history, and diverse personal backgrounds.
I value all students and their needs.
