Born and raised in Sonoma County, I attended from Santa Rosa Junior College on a Doyle Scholarship. One of my JC instructors, Joyce Gronroos, encouraged me to continue my education and become a teacher. After receiving my AA degree at SRJC, I continued my education at CSU, Chico, where I received my BA in Business Education and my teaching credential. I finished my minor in math at Sonoma State University.
I began teaching shorthand at SRJC in 1985 and expanded to the OT Lab. Now all the classes that I teach are technology based.
At present I am an adjunct instructor teaching for Santa Rosa Junior College in both the Business Administration Department and the Computer Studies Department.
Before retiring in March 2015, I taught full time and maintained two classrooms of 30 networked computers each. I have taught a variety of classes at the high school level. In the last several years, I taught Computer Applications, Web Page Design, and Computers for College and Careers at Piner High School, Santa Rosa City Schools District. Microsoft Office 2003, 2007, 2010; CS5 Dreamweaver, Flash, Photoshop; and HTML/web design are just a few of the applications taught at the high school.
I am Microsoft Office Specialist certified in MS Word 2000 - Core and Expert levels; MS Excel 2000- Core Level; and MS PowerPoint 2000.
