"Musical training is a more potent instrument than any other, because rhythm and harmony find their way into inward places of the soul."
~Plato, The Republic, Book 111
My teaching philosophy is to take the student from existing interest to a wider range of possibilities, ultimately heading them in whatever direction their musical interest takes them. With dedication, patience, gentle guidance and support of daily practice, the musical endeavor should be a fun and invaluable experience. The end result is the achievement of a special skill that the student can appreciate, share and enjoy for a lifetime.
