Writing for Older Adults -- : Aug 21 - Dec 18 2025
Class focuses on Writing Our Stories: Fostering Connection and Community Through Poetry.This is a welcoming, supportive class for those who want to explore self-expression and build community through poetry creation. No prior writing experience is needed. In this course, participants will experience how poetry can be a meaningful and accessible path to explore self-expression, celebrate culture, record memories, spark creativity, and foster authentic connection with others. Students will be offered compelling writing exercises and expert guidance as they explore a variety of poetic forms in a warm and encouraging environment.

Special Interest Discussion Groups -- : Aug 21 - Dec 18 2025
Class focuses on Reading the Poets Laureate. Class will be reading and discussing the poetry of US Poets Laureate, as well as learning about the poets. Participants will read a wide range of contemporary, American poets who have achieved the highest poetic honor in our country - being named US Poet Laureate. Class is open to any interested person and no prior experience in poetry is necessary. Class time will include reading selections of poetry aloud, followed by guided, exploratory discussion. Reading outside of class is optional, though a home reading list will be provided.
