I was born in San Francisco and grew up in San Bruno, California as the child of Irish immigrants. I am the first generation in my family to attend College. When I started going to College, I thought I was going to be a Biology major, but I was forever changed by what I found there -- the opportunity to read, write and learn more about literature and culture. I quickly realized that I had found my passion, and I graduated with a double major in English and Celtic Studies. As a result of that experience and my experiences as a teacher, I believe in the idea that College is a powerful location for exploration, learning and reflection. I look forward to exploring the world of reading, writing and critical thinking with you!
