Master of Science in Counseling, San Francisco
Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, San Francisco
I graduated with a Master of Science in Counseling with a specialization in career from San Francisco State University. I am an adjunct counselor with six years of counseling experience. Currently, I am an adjunct counselor and guided pathways counselor coordinator at Solano Community College. I feel very fortunate to have worked as an adjunct counselor at Merritt College where I oversaw five departments within career education. I have learned a great deal from the programs I oversaw, coordinated outreach efforts, and utilized data to help inform my approach in refining how to best serve students. In previous position I worked as an adjunct counselor at Berkeley City College which helped me to develop a strong foundation and knowledge base in helping students. As an adjunct counselor I work with students to learn about their academic aspirations, provide support, and guidance to help them reach their goals. My life experience reminded me about my roots at the community college. I feel very fortunate to have had counselors who challenged me to think about my career goals. The encouragement I received helped me figure out what I wanted to major in. Now that I am a counselor myself I want to give back to the community and help to lift others up. My commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion stems from my passion in helping others to be successful in life.
