I am a third-generation Mad "Man", with over 25 years experience in advertising and marketing for ad agencies including Ogilvy & Mather, BBDO, and J. Walter Thompson.
I've worked as a media buyer, media planner, worldwide account director, account planner, product manager and consultant for clients including Apple, IBM, Microsoft, Conde Nast, Domino's Pizza, McDonald's, Blue Diamond Almonds, and the California Tree Fruit Agreement.
Awards include two Grand Effies for advertising effectiveness, MPA Kelly Award for magazine advertising, and Marketing and Media Decisions "Media All-Star". Called "Brilliant" by Steve Jobs for the Apple "What's on Your Powerbook" campaign. Also helped create the ground-breaking IBM "e-Business" campaign.
I teach advertising and digital marketing at SRJC because I believe that more people should have the skills to market themselves, their businesses, and their causes. There is so much bad advertising out there. We can do better! And it's a lot of fun.
Since joining the SJRC faculty in 2017, I've taught BMK54 (Advertising) for 7 semesters. With that class, I won the North Bay Business Journal's Big Ad challenge 3 years in a row. I also updated the Marketing Certificate program for the digital era, and created BMK155 (Digital Marketing Tools).
