Her journey with SRJC commenced in 2014 when she assumed the role of a student assistant at the SRJC Resource Center. Demonstrating exceptional dedication and proficiency, Jessica swiftly ascended to an Admissions and Records Specialist (STNC) position in the Admissions and Records department, where she served for two years. Subsequently, in 2016, she was appointed as an Admissions and Records Specialist, contributing significantly to the efficiency of the SRJC First Stop Center until 2020. Since 2020, Jessica has been serving first-generation low-income students pursuing a degree in STEM under the MESA Program. Notably, Jessica is the youngest classified employee ever hired by the district, achieving this milestone at the age of 19.
In 2018, Jessica pursued her academic aspirations further at Sonoma State University, earning two Bachelor's Degrees from the School of Social Sciences. Her achievements include degrees in Sociology with distinction and Criminology and Criminal Justice with honors. Throughout her undergraduate years, Jessica actively participated in the Lambda Theta Nu Sorority, Inc. Upsilon Chapter—a Latina-based sorority—where she assumed various leadership roles, culminating in her presidency during her senior year. Under her leadership, the Chapter was honored with the Chapter of the Year award by the National Board of Directors.
Beyond her academic pursuits, Jessica is an active member of prestigious organizations such as the Latina Leadership Network, the Latinx Faculty and Staff Association, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, and the National Society of Leadership and Success. Her multifaceted involvement showcases her commitment to academic excellence, leadership, and community engagement.
In May 2023, Jessica earned her Master's Degree in Public Administration and a certificate in Public Policy from the University of Southern California through the Sol Price School of Public Policy in Sacramento.
