I received a Master's Degree in philosophy from the University of California, Davis in 1978 and a Bachelor's degree in sociology from California State University, Fullerton in 1973. I also studied as an undergraduate at University of Colorado, Boulder and as a graduate student at University of California, Berkeley. I have taught philosophy at Santa Rosa Junior College since 1982. Prior to that I taught at Feather River College, Yuba College (Woodland Center), and Sacramento City College. I have also worked as a Park Ranger (Humbolt Redwoods and Central Coast State Parks), a whitewater river guide, a counselor (at UC Davis and Cosumnes River College) and a social worker (L.A. County and Plumas County). Although I am interested in virtually anything philosophical, environmental philosophy has become my primary area of interest. I am also one of the founding members of the Institute for Environmental Education at Santa Rosa Junior College.
