My degree is in Urban Planning from Cal Poly Pomona. Additional education is in real estate, real property appraisal and right of way services. Professional achievements includes professional designations from the American Society of Appraisers (Urban- Real Property), Royal Institute of Chartered Surveys (RICS) and International Right of Way Association.

Work and Consulting Experience

I am a consultant with a practice that includes litigation support, eminent domain, diminution of value, right of way appraisal/acquisition, land use planning, and general appraisal problems. Past experience includes being the Right of Way Manager for the Sonoma County Department of Transportation and Public Works. Experience also includes San Bernardino County Department of Real Estate Services, San Bernardino County Planning Department, staff appraiser for Len Perdue and Associates and independent planning consultant.

Professional Involvement and Community Service

Member of (1) American Society of Appraisers (ASA), and (2) International Right of Way Association.

Professional involvement includes Chapter President and other offices of the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of the American Society of Appraisers and a member of the International Real Property Committee of the American Society of Appraisers.  Involved in education development for the American Society of Appraisers. Chapter President and various offices of Chapter 57 of the International Right of Way Association. Certified General real estate appraiser.

Presentations and Publications

Authored a number of papers and monographs for the American Society of Appraisers (Tool Kit) and authored several books titled "Zoning and Site Analysis for Real Property Appraisers," "Attorneys' Guide to Real Property Appraisals," and "Planner's Guide to Real Property Appraisal" which are distributed through the American Society of Appraisers. Other publications include numerous articles for the Right of Way Magazine which is published by the International Right of Way Association.

Course development include Basic Appraisal Principles for a joint effort by the American Society of Appraisers, Appraisal Institute, and American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers; developer of the Advanced Income course for the American Society of Appraisers; and developer of the Instructor's Manual for Essentials of Real Estate Economics and PowerPoint presentation.
 

Honors and Awards

Special honor was given by the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors for the work done in preparing community general plans.
