This class is for students working on the 1-2 spring productions. Although the Theatre Arts productions will be produced remotely this spring, a limited number of production opportunities are still available. Introduction to Costume Design -- : Jan 25 - May 21 2021
The above section has a mandatory 3 hour obligation. One of those hours is a mandatory Zoom class meeting, held once a week. Introduction to Costume Tech -- : Jan 20 - May 19 2021
Zoom meetings will take place for each class session at the days/time(s) listed above. Students are expected to be online with a functioning mic, and/or camera for the duration of the live session. More details will be provided in the syllabus distributed by the instructor.This course requires each student to have access to a basic domestic sewing machine (sewing machines may be available for loan), sewing kit, fabric (possibly supplied by the department), and costume patterns on the first day of class. Please check the SRJC Bookstore and the Canvas course page for details as they become available. This class normally requires a corequisite of THAR 25 or THAR 25.1 or THAR 25.5 working with 1-2 productions this spring. Boston University, MFA, Costume Design

University of California, Santa Cruz, BA, Theatre Arts

Coleen Scott Trivett is a Costume Designer with an MFA in Costume Design from Boston University, where she received the Kahn award upon graduation. She has worked for nearly 20 years in theater, opera, film, and television. After finishing her Graduate Internship with Academy Award winning costume designer Ann Roth, Coleen worked in television and film with designers Stephanie Maslansky and Tina Nigro. She works with her creative partner, photographer Ben Trivett, doing makeup and styling for fashion and fine art portrait photography. Coleen taught Costume Production and Makeup for Stage and Studio at Saint Ann's School in Brooklyn, NY from 2005-2018. Most recently, she was the costume designer and technician at Ventura College in Ventura, California. Coleen is the author of  The Costumes of Burlesque: 1865-2018, available as of June 2019 from Routledge, Taylor and Francis.
