Carolyn Petterson is a Faculty member in the ADN program. She is a California native. After high school, she moved to Montana for college and spent 10 years there, where she received her BSN from Montana State University. She has been a Registered Nurse for nine years and has work experience as in Med/Surg, Orthopedics and Trauma/Step-Down care. During her time in Orthopedics, she completed her Orthopedic Nurse Certification (ONC). A few years after embarking on her nursing career, she found a passion for teaching and orienting new graduate nurses into the profession. At that time, she began her master's program in Nursing Education at the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota. During her master's program, Carolyn also taught for a few years as Adjunct Faculty in the BSN program at Montana State University. She has a particular passion for all things practical and hands-on learning. As she completed her Masters, she decided to move back home to California, where she worked at hospitals throughout the county. She is elated to be joining the SRJC faculty and to be molding the minds of young nurses!
