B.S. in Environmental Science, UC Santa Barbara
M.S. in Biological Oceanography, Florida State University

I grew up in Caldwell, NJ. I have lived in upstate New York, Isla Vista (UCSB), Kauai, Tallahassee, Charleston, south Florida, and since 1981, Santa Rosa, my favorite. I have traveled to 48 states, 10 Canadian provinces, 13 countries in Central and South America, 13 countries in Europe, and 8 more countries in the Caribbean. I have hitchhiked over 30,000 miles, hopped several freights, crewed a sailboat 900 miles, jumped solo from an airplane, backpacked in the wilderness over 170 nights, and ride a motorcycle. My jobs have included being a NYC messenger, postal carrier, forest fire fighter, mosquito control biologist, computer programmer, and high school teacher. I have taught full-time at SRJC since 1985 including COBOL, BASIC, dBASE, Pascal and C++ programming, computer literacy, database management, Excel, management information systems, expert systems, operating systems, and Photoshop. I am an Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) in Photoshop CC and CS6. I am a follower of Jesus Christ; my relationship with Him is more important to me than anything else. I met my wife while watching the sunset on the beach in Florida. We have been married since 1980 and have one adult son. I retired at the end of the Spring 2015 semester, but continue to teach Photoshop classes.
