I am a native born German bilingually raised since the age of six. I have attended school in Germany and the U.S. and have taught school in both countries. I have received both a Fulbright and Daad fellowship given by the German government for study in Germany. I have been recognized for excellent teaching in Germany and the U.S. I also lived and studied weaving and batik in Florence, Italy where I exhibited my work at the Palazzo Strozzi. I met and married my husband in Marburg, Germany. We worked and traveled throughout Europe for six years before we finally returned to the U.S. My family comes from west Germany, the former east Germany and parts of East Prussia giving me a good overview of life and history in all three communities.

I have worked for Dole Food Company and Sprint Communications as a Strategic Planner. My duties were to produce the ten year strategic plan, work on mergers and acquisitions, and investigate possible avenues for future growth. I also managed the corporate libraries. I have worked for the Sonoma County Humane Society as a fund raiser and managing editor of the Humane Society monthly magazine. I have worked for over seven years as an Ombudsman for the Council on Aging. I enjoy teaching at Santa Rosa Junior College very much and love the interaction with my students.

We have lived in Sonoma County for eleven years now and enjoy the stimulation afforded by this area. In addition to being involved in the German American community we are also a part of the art community. My husband is a well-known printmaker and graphic artist. I enjoy making jewelry, traveling and taking photographs.
