Brett is the founding Attorney of Rhodes Law, an estate planning law practice in Sonoma County, CA. With admission to practice law in California, the U.S. Northern District of California, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court, he brings a wealth of legal knowledge and experience. Brett has been honored with inclusion in the 2024 Northern California Rising Stars list by Super Lawyers, recognizing his outstanding legal practice. This distinction is reserved for the top 2.5% of attorneys in Northern California who demonstrate excellence in their field. His educational background includes a Juris Doctorate of Law, a Master of Public Administration, a Master of Legal Studies, and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice Administration. Additionally, he graduated from Dominican University's Leadership Program and the National Association of Counties (NACo) High Performance Leadership Academy.
Beyond legal practice, Brett continues to be deeply involved in public service, boasting over two decades of progressive experience in public agency roles. He has served in various law enforcement capacities, including as an officer, Field Training Officer (FTO), training manager, detective, sergeant, and ultimately as the chief of police for a federally commissioned law enforcement agency. Brett is a graduate of the FBI LEEDA's 46th Command Institute for Law Enforcement Executives. He has an extensive teaching resume, which includes completion of all phases of the Peace Officers Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) Advanced IDI Leadership and Mentoring for Instructors programs.
As a native of Sonoma County, Brett remains actively involved in various community endeavors. He is committed to fostering dialogues and delivering speeches on topics spanning public administration, leadership, and legal affairs.
