I was born and raised in Oxford, England, amid "dreaming spires" and a University dating as far back as 1237 CE. I left England in 1977 and have been living in the US ever since. My college career began at Santa Rosa Junior College. After sending my two children off to school all day, I decided to try out the educational system, which was "foreign" to me, and enrolled in a single class in order to challenge my house-bound brain. That was all it took for me to get hooked, and after first part time, then full time study, I emerged from the University of California, Davis, with a Master's degree in Art History. Teaching Art History is my passion. I love my subject and I love to pass on my enthusiasm to others. For several years I have been taking groups of students (and others) on adventures around the world, to see some of the great works of art in person, and to learn about other cultures first hand. I love to travel and enjoy introducing others to multicultural experiences. To date I have taken groups to Italy, Greece, Britain, and Egypt. Eygpt is a particular passion for me, and I have led twelve tours there, with hopes to visit again in the future. Outside of the classroom I have a real life, and yes, I do laundry and shop for groceries! I do not ALWAYS have my head in a book, although sometimes it feels like that. When the semester ends, I'm likely to be found packing my case ready for another adventure somewhere around the world!
