I am a registered pharmacist (RPh) licensed in both California and Alaska and currently practice full-time in outpatient pharmacy settings.
Although I was born in the United States, I grew up in Japan, where I lived until graduating from high school. I returned to the U.S. for college, beginning my academic journey at Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC). After completing my prerequisites at SRJC and Sonoma State University (SSU), I went on to earn my Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).
I bring extensive community pharmacy experience, having progressed through every stage of the profession - pharmacy technician student, technician, intern pharmacist, and now pharmacist. This pathway allows me to offer a practical, real-world approach to pharmacy technician education by fostering a supportive learning environment that emphasizes applying knowledge and skills beyond the textbook, while prioritizing patient safety, professionalism, and the competencies students need to succeed confidently in today’s practice settings.
Becoming an instructor for the Pharmacy Technician Program here at SRJC is especially meaningful to me, as it fulfills a long-standing goal that began during my own time as a pharmacy technician student.
